Shattered Mirror

In a Mirror Darkly Opening Logo...

There’s been a lot written recently on te existance of alternate universes and parallel realities.  I’ve always believed in the existence of them, and it’s refreshing to find out that my thoughts and fears are true and can be somewhat confirmed by quantum physics. (Which I admit I know nothing about).

My question that I wish to throw out is, what side of the mirror are we really on?

If you watch any of the Mirror Universe episodes of Star Trek, you’ll quickly find out that the good guys on the other side are really the bad guys, oppressive, oppertunistic, and greedy…. Wait…. uh, aren’t I describing the general population of the world presently?  Greedy, Oppertuinistic and Oppressive.    So, if you go by that logic, we are the mirror of what we strive to be, or what really is.

Or are we?

This is where your brain is about to explode.  Why? Because put simply we aren’t evil all fo the time, we do have moments of compassion, and were we truly the mirror, we would be evil 100% of the time caring about no-one and all out for ourselves all the time.  But aren’t we that way 100% of the time you ask?  No we are not, but that still doesn’t necessarily mean we aren’t on the opposite side of the mirror.

We all need to sit down and look at what side we really think we are on.. Are we on the good side where everyone really works for the common good?  Or are we on the other side, the darker, sinister side where humanity is doomed to fight and fight until we exterminate ourselves, or worse.

The average daily thought...

I really really really really (can you tell I really) cannot stand people that claim to be on top of everything and then when some comment as simple as “Google it” comes along, fade into this tizzy that that “never Google anything”, it just shows the real lack of braincells apparent in society today.

If this person had the aforementioned braincells they would know that to “Google” something in the vernacular is a simple and trendy way of saying, do a search.  Now the really interesting thing comes up, 2 of the three most widely used browsers use Google as the default search engine in that little search box in the corner.  (Firefox and Safari)

I think what bothers me the most is that while the language is evolving, people that use it are not.  If you’re going to live and expect society as a whole to understand you, take this advice:

Stay up to date on the language, and use it wisely, otherwise, you may find yourself about as fresh as yesterday’s laundry.

The Spy Game

Who's Watching the Watchers?

Have you ever wondered why it is that people seem to have the need to follow youa nd watch every move you make?  I have been wondering that myself of recent days and I think I may have a reason for it.. And it isn’t pretty.

It all goes to a sense of paranoia and insecurity, if you fear the worst, then everything that may be said, however inccoulous, is suspect.  You hire people (or ask them) to go and spy for you, reporting things back, all because inside you are so insecure you need to know what is being said at all times and for no real solid reason.

Say for example I got a bad post on here, now I moderate all posts and comments so it’s not as big an issue, but if I didn’t and someone posted that I was an “insane crackpot” I would necessarily care that they said it, I’d just delete it and move on, freedom of speech and all, plus, I really wouldn’t care that on some other site the discussion may pop up, unless one of two things had been going on – threatening or legal slander.  Then I may be concerned, but random complaining or venting, who cares really, unless you are so tied up in making sure you are informed of every mention of your name, that you can’t escape the thought you are a God among your followers.

It’s so Junior High School that it’s almost funny in a sad and pathetic sort of way.

Disclaimer: This post is not aimed at anyone in particular, it’s just a disturbing trend I’m seeing in a lot of places recently online.

It's Gettin HOT

It’s getting hot, and in APRIL!!!

I’m sure that all the global warming nutcases are having a field day with this 93 dgree heat we’re having, but in the end, it’s a fluke, and it will be over soon enough.

My problem is that there’s no AC in my bedroom and it’s getting hotter and hotter and hotter, so fans are being deployed.  Film at 11…

more unless my Mac melts…. (well that will never happen)

The Broken System and What Could Fix It

Posted in Expose and Investigative, Politics on April 1, 2010 by vk08

I really don’t like to speak ill of anyone that is doing their job to the best of their ability and who genuinely think they are doing the right thing, but when you have a person that does their job with the backwards thought that they are doing good, but only because everyone is guilty and it’s up to her to prove it, there is a problem.

Connecticut DCYF (Department of Children and Families) requires that all investigators are accompanied by a stenographer that takes down what everyone is saying, this way there is no ability for a DCYF worker to turn around and twist the words of a parent and claim they said something they didn’t.  It’s a protection and a good one, so far the only cases in CT that have been brought to court are those where there seriously is something that needs judicial intervention.

In stark contrast to that civil and non adversarial system, Westchester County NY has a system where they imbue their CPS workers with broad powers that violate every portion of the Constitution and Bill of Rights.  These workers can go and tell a judge that there is imminent harm to get an entry warrant and not have one shred of proof or evidence to show cause.  The law is written to allow hearsay and conjecture based upon information that may be unreliable to be used as proof positive evidence against a parent.

As I go on in more posts I will detail a way we could fix this system as well as show the lengths that CPS in Westchester will go to to “get the bad parents”  For now I’ll leave you with this, 60 days of being under their microscope that turned into 8 months of it, will take years to recover from emotionally.
